Fashions from Around the World

Travel, learn and play with Barbie®.  Children in Europe discover the world with Barbie® in this series of fashions inspired by countries and cities.  We first "discovered" these fashions in Spain ("Descubre el mundo con Barbie®").  Each fashion is accompanied by a booklet with information on the featured country or city, along with games and activities.  The fashion and booklet are sold at bookstores and newsstands ("kiosks"), with a new fashion issued every two weeks.  Popularly known as "fasciculos" ("series") in Spain, they have also been issued in other European countries and Australia.

The "fasciculos" may include accessories, but they do not include shoes.  The fashions are attached to a cardboard backing and packaged with the accompanying travel booklet in a plastic blister pack.  The fashion and booklet are usually mounted side by side; in some cases, they may be back-to-back. We learned from other collectors that the blister pack may also be mounted on thicker cardboard backing.
